Despite a very uneven season, #StarTrekSNW has consistently leaned into #Uhura and I really, really appreciate that. The sadness of Pike's fate tho.

IIRC, a white hole already appeared on screen at the end of The Black Hole (Disney, 1979), implying that the escaping heroes exited one. (It surely was in the novelization.)

I enjoyed the SNW season finale. I have some quibbles, but I enjoyed how it focused on Uhura which was great for a finale in the 60th year of Trek. The twist felt like something out of a 80s TOS novel so I liked that. Also did we just witness the birth of the Prophets?

Overall then, this has been a mixed season, hope that the next will have more serious episodes, and no more gimmicky ones. Those were fun, but with such short seasons, the ratio of quirky to serious episodes is really not good.

That's meant to be one of the strongest elements of this show. Seeing it retconned would be a real let down. Really hope they stick with the path to what we know it should be.
