My 2nd cousins husband was supposed to be having breakfast atop one of the towers on 9/11 he was here from Brazil to audition for Juilliard. He overslept. His oversleeping saved his life. it’s crazy to think about had he been there he’d never ended up part of the family etc. #cpchatnow

If my memory serves me right, the show 24 had its first season debut pushed back due to 9/11. #CPChatNow

To date, I think the two biggest events I've lived through has been 9/11 and COVID in 2020. #CPChatNow

I think eventually her mom called the school. But she was understandably very worried. I think it was just a matter of what floor he worked on and it was low enough that he could evacuate #CPChatNow

I remember rumors flying throughout the day and my classmates going up to teachers and asking, "Did they hit...?" #CPChatNow

Yeah. Keeping that fire drill might have created a panic. #CPChatNow

A lot of people were upset and shaken up that day. A big part of that I believe was being on edge about if anything more was going to happen. #CPChatNow

Was he able to communicate that pretty quickly to the family or did they spend an amount of time not knowing the relative's fate? #CPChatNow

I don’t think the whole day. I don’t honestly remember. I know I went home and was glued to the news, but I have always been very interested in the news. My mom worked at the school and she said they canceled a previously scheduled fire drill #CPChatNow

My aunt had asked my mom to tell my cousin (we’re the same age but went to different elementary schools but graduated from the same high school at the same time) so she told me so I knew why we were headed to my cousins she was also very upset and shaken up #cpchatnow

There was also a girl in our class who had a relative working in the World Trade Center, but luckily he got out #CPChatNow

I remember we went to the library to watch it which in hindsight seems a little weird being 5th graders #CPChatNow

Do you think the school didn't think you could comprehend the scope of the situation? Did you ever ask your mom what went into her decision to tell you as soon as she did? #CPChatNow

One of the reasons I failed to think of the people right away was I had never been on a plane. In fact, the first time I flew was 2009. #CPChatNow

I was a high school freshman, with a shortened school day because I was recovering from my back surgery. So, I was home watching the local news when the first plane hit. For whatever reason I didn't register there were people in those planes or the buildings. It was just kind of, "Oh!" #CPChatNow

I was in 3rd grade they didn’t tell us at school but my mom told me as soon as I got home and we headed to my cousins where she told him too #cpchatnow I still have the patriotic spirit shirt my elementary school created after 9/11

Also wild to think about is we knew each other 10 years ago. December will mark 13 years #CPChatNow has been in existence. At the risk of tooting our own horn, that's an incredible run!
