forests dark, tall, and proud
booming footsteps ring out loud
"come and we will play a game"
one that filled my soul with shame

touching, groping, fucking, bruising
all my body for using, abusing
i was so young and vestal then
my innocence ripped away by men

and as i grew it never stopped
the forest grows its roots and tops
no matter where i ran to hide
they'd find me, choke me, skin me alive

why oh why do you make me live ?
what sickening trauma do you have to give ?
a bearer of curses, a carcass so marked
a mind so broken and without any spark

and so that dear friends is why i would
never EVER step foot in the woods
