First frost in Marbury last night & numbers down to 17/31. No NFY but after lots of empty egg boxes at first was pleased with some lovely marked moths: a particularly nice November moth agg, G-b Crescents, Barred Sallows, Large Wainscot, Rd & Yellow-line Quakers, 1 Merve, 2 Dark Chestnuts #teammoth

Big temp ⬇️ last night, yet still 112/20, incl 84 Lunar Underwings! What is it about this location? 🤷

Migs incl gdn's 4th Pearly Underwing, 3 Vestal, White-point, SMW, Turnip & RDP.

Best was discovering NFG Sallow in adjacent undergrowth just now. 😎

found on wall last night, Grey Shoulder-knot, new for year. looks so much lighter with the flash.Taken in its pot this morning, shows its markings much better.Side view, you know numbers are bad when you take photos of the same moth!!And again, Grey Shoulder-knot waking up this morning!

Just 21 of 9 last night, but it did get down to around 7C here in Cambs #teamMoth Nothing more exciting than a White-point

White-point moth, so called because the otherwise brown moth has a white spot on each forewing

Lydd on Sea VC15, a chilly clear night resulted in 91 of 22.

Turns out the 2 Yellow-line Quakers in the traps last night, were New for Garden, upon checking back I’d only trapped them before in the Lake District when on holiday in Sept 23.

Be careful. One minute you're saying that you like a nice moth but don't know much, the next you are buying your own trap & keeping a record of what you find. Soooo many beautiful moths on our doorsteps, and some great names for them too. #TeamMoth might be useful to find someone in the area.

@andymus.bsky.social has pointed out that my "Oak Hook-tip" looks more like a Spiny Hook-tip, which I wasn't even aware of and is extremely rare. Bigger than an OHT with a grey cast to the wing and different markings near the hook. #teammoth #ukmoths
