Day 16: 1997-98

Push - Universal Nation (1998)

Trance + Mitsubishis = 1998

This is a little more restrained than the Ferry Corsten / System F stuff, more the better for it.

Fred Again + The Blessed Madonna - Marea (we lost dancing)

I have been avoiding posting the same song twice this year, but for this I'll make an exception.

A magical combination of despair + hope + electronic beats

Day 15: 1995-96

B.B.E. - Seven Days and One Week (1996)
This one absolutely dominated clubland back in the day.

Day 15 - Head

Ane Brun - Headphone Silence (Henrik Schwarz remix, Dixon edit, Ame approved)

Talk about assembling a dream team line up to remix a song. At the point this came out, all 3 were so hot. Unsurprisingly good.

Michael Mayer - Disco Dancers

It's disco! But it's made by someone known for house / deep house, so it's a little more restrained.

Underworld - Tongue

Day 14: 1993-94

The Prodigy - No Good (Start the dance) (1994)

I'm an absolute sicko for MFTJG, I'm not sure if this is the best song on the album, but it's up there. Pure musical adrenaline.

Bruce Springsteen - Dancing in the Dark

This is not a cover of the song I posted yesterday. (And nor is yesterday's song a cover of this...)

Day 13 - Eyes

Commander Tom - Are Am Eye?
(Aka Noom 13)
Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but for those that like trance / hard house and get excited by hoovers, this was probably the best tune from that time / genre.

Layo & Bushwacka! Ft Cevin Fisher - Dancing in the Dark (Audiofly remix)

Not a cover of The Boss, rather a deep house tune to ease you through your Sunday.

Day 12: 1989-90

Technotronic - Pump Up the Jam (1989)

It's very hard to make a song that captures the Zeitgeist, yet still sounds great 36 years later. But this tune does exactly that.

Day 12 - kiss

Prince - Kiss (Dr Packer's acid remix)

Turning Kiss into house tune, under pinned by some bubbling 303s doesn't sound it should work, yet it does.

Day 11 - Tree

Hope - Tree Frog

"Listen, it's getting closer..."

This was an old mix tape I got. I had no idea what any the songs were. After about 25 years I found this one, and I love it...

Day 11: 1987-1988

M/A/R/R/S - Pump Up the Volume (1988)
This had quite a profound effect on me at an early age. It seemed so alien, but brilliant to me.

The Jets - Crush On You (1986)

Now I am trying to rack my brain figure out which tune I know sampled this. Either way, more pop-tastic electro funk.
