On top of an old Cotswold stone column shaped from a large square base to a short stubby column sits an iron cylinder. Three long white arms are attached to the cylinder, each with a substantial hand and extended finger. The arms point to Stow on the Wold, Toddington and Tewkesbury, written in black uppercase. Pointing the way to other worlds within the northern Shire. The Tolkien Trail near Clitheroe, Lancashire offers a relaxed (if somewhat popular) amble by the Hodder and Ribble in the shadow of Pendle Hill - and there’s not an Orc to be seen to spoil the walk! #FingerpostFriday

🤴 King suggests you stick to 4m wide cliff-top path East Lane Bawdsey #Suffolk reduced to 2m by ploughing & turn in land at the pines.
