Awa Fam won the Bronze medal, Dominique Malonga won the Silver medal, but Team USA was inevitable in earning their 5th consecutive Gold medal in the FIBA Women's World Cup. My recap #FIBAWWC: www.stormchasersbasketball.com/p/awa-bronze...

My personal shortlist for the All-Star Fives. Given I don't have an official vote I don't have to pick and you can't make me. So there. #FIBAWWC

Rising Star award went to Iyana Martin, which was also pretty damn obvious. She's leading a team that never used to let youngsters play, averaged 17ppg, 4ast, 3reb, 2stl, shot 46% from three and 55% from the field. And she's 20. Yeah, easy pick. #FIBAWWC

Best Coach award went to Miguel Mendez of Spain, which I guess I can understand. My (fake) vote went to Olaf Lange. His best player is at home, his next best player shot 27%, he's barely got any guards, and he somehow coaxed Germany into outstanding team performances and a top-4 finish. #FIBAWWC

In case you missed it, Stewie was also MVP of the post game press conference. U.S. starts at about 21:10. #wnba #fibawwc

They gave the Best Defensive Player award to Gabby Williams, which seemed pretty bloody obvious, frankly. Absolute menace. Same as the vote on my (fake) ballot, obviously. #FIBAWWC

Take note, @wnba.com, broadcasters and media.

I guess one reason why Phee had to go to the World Cup is that otherwise Minnesota would have been the only playoff team not represented in team USA and that might have loomed over their playoff run the way Phee barely playing in Paris did. #fibawwc
