September 24 was quite a day for classic TV premieres! 📺

Four favorites made their debuts on this day:
The Donna Reed Show — 1958
Petticoat Junction — 1963
The Munsters — 1964
The Doris Day Show

My favorites - Petticoat Junction and The Munsters :)

Developed as Ian Fleming's SOLO starring Robert Vaughn, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. quickly became a duo after its debut #OTD in 1964.

“The part of Illya Kuryakin was five lines [in the pilot]," David McCallum said in 2021. “But the writers saw the relationship...and it grew.” #TVSky #ClassicTV

But CBS didn't cancel it. Jackie Gleason did, and he revived his variety show, which had better ratings.

The 39 episodes of THE HONEYMOONERS went into syndication soon after, and they've lived on in reruns for 70 years. #TVSky #ClassicTV
