The first ever flower on a young Grevillia juniperina. It is a bright clean red with the distinctive ‘spider’ like flower. The leaves match the size if the flower stamens, are pointed and shaped like a canoe. Their colour ranges from forest green to wetland green. The soil moisture around the plants’ roots is protected from direct sunlight by Eucalypt mulch. A solitary bamboo stake marks out the plant’s position in the garden.

I had some time to fill between finishing at the pool and my appointment to get shorn so I had breakfast at the Brew Bar in Tuggeranong … Halloumi Stack and Coffee.
