Finished the series. This will go on my all-time favorite saga cdramas list!
For me, this drama stands out for these themes:
- women's struggles to free themselves from the shackles of sexist/classist conventions;
- indictment of imperial rule;
- the concept of karma.

This or That
Should I watch #AgainstTheCurrent

Female centered circle of life drama, beautiful written story & characters. Every single person feels alive, portrayed by captivating actors. Both leads are perfect casted. #TanSongYun & #LiuXueYi amazing performance 👏
Hopeful Family saga with focus on struggle of women

Pffft! Unhinged and savage Jinqi is my second favourite Jinqi. My favourite ia down bad for his wife. And this moment is combination of both.

I've finally finished #AgainsttheCurrent and all I can say is I loved it so much from beginning to end. It was really just such an epic saga. I loved the time skips too because we got to see how Lanxiang lived her life well just liked she promised her mother she would.

10/10 epic drama.
