When designing creatures for Even Goblins Fall In Love, our indie NES JRPG, I wanted to aim for a mix of cute and creepy designs much like the original Dragon Quest.

One of the more technical nods to Dragon Quest that our NES JRPG, Even Goblins Fall In Love, makes is storing game data in CHR (graphic) data.

See all that noise in the tiles?
That's monster and dungeon data!

I've added a dialogue editor in our game editor for our #nes game. Previously I typed in all dialogues manually in asm code, but it was very time consuming. Now I can immediately see how dialogues will look in game. Huge time saver!

With the ECHO system, the underwater stage can change based on your choices.
Be kind to others, or the world may reflect it back at you, just like in real life.
ECHOシステムで水中ステージも選択によって変化します。
