She died on 21st October 1946 aged 21. She is buried at Wombwell, Cemetery.
Because her death occurred more than a year after the official end of WW2 we do not know how she died. #ATS #WW2 #yorkshire

#OTD 10 Oct '43, #WW2 Naples. Norman Lewis is working from a palazzo on Riviera de Chiaia. The locals assume it's the HQ for the British Secret Police and offer their services as unpaid informants. 'Prepared to work for the pure and unalloyed devotion to the Allied cause.'

#OTD 10 Oct 1943, #WW2 Naples. British Intelligence Officer, Norman Lewis comments that the Allies are engaged in looting. Officers of the King's Dragoon Guards have removed paintings and china, while the OSS has 'cleaned out Achille Lauro's sumptuous house'.

The King Tiger tank that arrived in Kubinka for trials in September was only repaired #OTD in 1944. Its condition was still not good enough to perform mobility trials, but it could at least drive to the shooting range for gunnery trials. #tanks #history #WW2 #WWII
