The #gifts are many
While thoughts are few
Time given freely
Priceless

When least expected—
a miracle!

You. Here.

A
#gift from the cosmos.

Sadly, the old VW Beetle that #Uncle Ted #gifted us in his will got washed away in the monsoon #floods. It wasn’t running and was in danger of being ticketed by the street parking officers, so the floods did them a favor by taking it away.

Them’s Fighting Words

I’m #flooded with adrenaline…
I’m piqued. Nah bro: I’m miffed.
He said that I could cry #uncle
As though that were a #gift.

I’ll put my fist where his mouth is,
If I’ve got any aim:
Until HE calls the brother of
HIS father out by name!

👊🎁

One man's #gift
is another man's curse
They say it is all
a matter of perspective
it is easy to say that
when it is not you
who must deal
with the consequences.

Today’s Monday September 28th prompt is #gift #thingstowriteabout

Post Office Square

send cards through the #post
long before the internet
what's their country code?

Raging gusts test
the chimney’s flames,
biting cold forcing
the tenacious birch to renounce,
footsteps fading beneath
the heavy snowfall,
a lonesome swallow perches
on a forgotten postbox
its cry drifting into silence.

Renounce what? Faith in religion, government, or maybe the #post office? None of the above.
At this point being an older person there really isn’t anything to #renounce, if there ever was anything that needed to be renounced. Just get on with life and live it.
#vss365 #thingstowriteabout

Buttering the toast,
When the post arrives early,
Today's host of trash.
