Midwestern vibes December-May. #TheShining #TCMParty

I saw Tang in there too. #TheShining #TCMParty

Look closely at the date beneath the photograph:
"Overlook Hotel — July 4th Ball — 1921."
And there's Jack, standing right in the middle.

After the film had already opened in New York and Los Angeles, Kubrick decided the hospital scene was unnecessary and ordered it physically removed from prints.

The inhuman howls coming from Jack to signify his final descent into animalistic hellish madness is truly disturbing and Nicholson absolutely brings it. #TheShining #TCMParty

A meme is born #TCMparty #TheShining

If you keep making that face, it will freeze that way. #TCMParty #TheShining

The theatrical release originally continued beyond what you're about to see. Kubrick initially included a hospital epilogue with Wendy, Danny and Ullman.

Just die already #TheShining #TCMParty

Wendy did all the work at the hotel and protected her son Her practical and parenting skills were tops #TheShining #TCMParty

King's ending is radically different. The Overlook's neglected boiler explodes and destroys the hotel. Kubrick instead leaves the Overlook standing.

Defeated and frozen forever. #TCMparty #TheShining

And Wendy becomes a Widow. #TheShining #TCMParty

Freedom! #tcmparty #theshining

The art direction is exquisite💅 #TheShining #TCMParty

This is where we see good parenting helping in ways you don't realize at at the time. Danny already knows his way around that maze because his Mom invests time in him. Meanwhile Dad does not. #TheShining #TCMParty

Being chased though a maze by maniac in the snow was probably Action Park’s safest attraction #TCMParty #TheShining

I loved this. But there was a beautiful scene in the book towards the end where Jack regains control of himself and says to Danny,”I’ll always love you. Now run.” #TCMParty #TheShining

While I disagree with the prior change, I like this one. Shows the kid has some brains and fortitude.
