This is what all the #AI #techbros have been working towards all along...

“If all these #TechBros are as smart as they keep telling us they are, why do they want to use #FossilFuels and OUR WATER for power and cooling all these new #DataCentres instead of #CleanEnergy, that could ABSOLUTELY do the whole job?”

#TechBros are way out of line. Take your #AI and shove it 🤖

The farms and #farmers are neglected in favor of #TechBros. Money may talk; land and crops listen. #HeartlandPolitics

Great organisation aiming to challenge #techbros #AI dominance.
However, it's a shame they're not on BlueSky and they only accept US members.

This is the danger of being a spoiled #nepo baby who has never been told "no" even once in their lives -- you grow up believing you can have no bad #ideas. Even when your idea is literally "let's put explosive fluid in one of the already most dangerous spots to get hit in an accident."

#Thiel and his tech #oligarchs can’t win democracy, so they want to bypass it, then sell rule by billionaires as “freedom”. #Durán’s warning is clear: when #SiliconValley start engineering collapse, ordinary people pay the price. #NerdReich #TechBros #Democracy

In the US #sustainability is a privilege.

It costs more. Politicians block and bury it.

Earth is our only home. We need to protect it with our lives and lifestyle.

We all want to do our part. We need corporations to make it easy.

#techbros need to pay taxes
#taxevasion hurts our home

War Bros Didn’t Always Rule Silicon Valley | - Steven Levy WIRED archive.is/otX1w (this is so good. I remember those days) #AI #techBros #SiliconValley #history

Text Shot: The story as I see it is that beginning in the late 1970s, a new generation of technologists, identifying with the counterculture, operated with a set of values that unleashed innovation and ironically set the stage for the industry’s current wealth. Yes, that movement carried a torch from the field’s defense industry roots. But even as DOD funding kept fueling innovations (Darpa grants provided dough for the GUI, the internet, and Google Search), that new generation was characterized by idealism, a hackerish love of building things, and disdain for conventional practices.
That mindset changed not only the course of the computer industry, but the culture of American business. (Before Apple Computer, a CEO wouldn’t dare come to work in anything but a suit.) Denying the existence of that idealism is not only inaccurate, but it conveniently lets the new generation of defense contractors off the hook for their pivot toward deadly materiel.
