I found this Phyllonorycter mine on a Field Maple planted as a street tree. It looks a lot like P. johannisi, though I know this is not usually found on Field Maple. Any thoughts @vc28nature.bsky.social? #teammoth

Merveille du Jour (Marvel of the Day, although interestingly some moth-ers go Germanic and "Wonder of the Day" as if we don't have the word "marvel", hahahah), it was one of 9 species, just 23 moths to the UV #teamMoth

Pale Mottled Willow Caradrina clavipalpis N. Antrim, 04th Oct 2026. A milder night produced a good haul of migrant moths. Only my 2nd & 3rd of this species. #moths #mothsmatter #teammoth @ulsterwildlife.bsky.social @savebutterflies.bsky.social @migrantmothuk.bsky.social @europebutterfly.bsky.social

Another good moth from the garden on Tues night was this Tebenna micalis (Beautiful Twitcher). It’s very small but it’s got a lot going on! #teammoth #migrantmoth

Autumn is the time to see one of the best noctuids in Berlin: Staurophora celsia Malachiteule. No common, but regular. This came to the light last night. #teammoth, #moth, #stadtnatur, #berlinbiodiversity, #berlin, #urbanbiodiversity

Hi Rob

Parornix on Blackthorn, larva concolorous yellowish-green, so must be torquillella (?)
Another ‘new for SJ84’ in the bag if I’m correct 😄

Cheers

First frost in Marbury last night & numbers down to 17/31. No NFY but after lots of empty egg boxes at first was pleased with some lovely marked moths: a particularly nice November moth agg, G-b Crescents, Barred Sallows, Large Wainscot, Rd & Yellow-line Quakers, 1 Merve, 2 Dark Chestnuts #teammoth

Big temp ⬇️ last night, yet still 112/20, incl 84 Lunar Underwings! What is it about this location? 🤷

Migs incl gdn's 4th Pearly Underwing, 3 Vestal, White-point, SMW, Turnip & RDP.

Best was discovering NFG Sallow in adjacent undergrowth just now. 😎
