We had a nice moment testing the iPhone Duo tabletop setup during today’s stream to give DŌRI its own dedicated view. 😊 There’s still more to polish, but it’s already looking great!

iPhone Duo is coming to Explore SwiftUI, and I think it’s the most useful page I’ve ever made.

Against all this AI slop, I think this will be the best way to truly experience and optimize how old, familiar, and new elements behave on such a complex device.

I've started looking into the new SwiftUI APIs for iPhone Duo in Xcode 27.1 and wrote a post on configuring toolbars, adapting custom labels, and prioritizing toolbar actions or tabs when space is limited: nilcoalescing.com/blog/Configu...

If you use NavigationSplitView in SwiftUI, supporting the iPhone Duo at a base level is basically fully automatic. Just changed over my app Profile Bud to leverage it instead of a sheet I was using in place of the sidebar.

The iPhone Duo forces us all to adjust our apps to its new form factors, and KeyboardKit is no different. This blog post takes a quick look at the Duo's native keyboard and how KeyboardKit will have to adjust.

hora 1.1.0 is out.

Google Tasks live in the app now. A sidebar widget, and your tasks drawn on the Day, Week and Month grids next to your events.

Drag one onto the grid to give it a time. Tick it off anywhere, it's done everywhere.

Also in 1.1.0: Find a time.

Open the availability popover and hora reads every attendee's free/busy at once, lays their days out side by side, and offers the slots where the whole room is free.

One click puts the event there.

I was interested whether Golden Gate finally fixed the fucked-up look of NavigationStack in sheets on macOS, and I'm happy to announce that now it's fucked up in a completely new way!

Xcode 27.1 beta adds iPhone Duo support.

#SwiftUI gets hinge state and angle updates, adaptive arrangements, reserved regions, and multi-display scenes.

Foldables are now a real #iOSDev target.

Dev-log: an event you blocked on another calendar showed up twice. Once as itself, once as a bare "Busy" row.

Two records, one meeting. The fix was picking which one is the original, and letting the block stand only when its source calendar is hidden.

Dev-log: Google Tasks stores a date. Never a time.

So when you drag a task onto 14:00 in hora, the hour has nowhere to go in Google. We keep it on your Mac and send Google the date it expects.

State you can't sync is still state you own.
