Guards need something to guard. The Big Bunker makes an appearance... tho, truth be told, I don't know where to store it so it's currently sitting atop the 3d printer.

Just back from the second Indian Mutiny #SharpPractice event organised by indefatigable Phil Turner @ Bristol Independent Gaming - an excellent weekend of fun gaming with a great bunch of people, colourful armies & a menagerie of local fauna causing problems to both sides! #SpreadTheLard #Wargaming
In today's game of CoC2 at the Outpost demo Sunday the Indian forces pushed up with supporting tanks against a Japanese defence line centred on a village. The Indians broke through the Japanese lines and opened up their flanks. Terrific game by @thedexmchenry.bsky.social #spreadthelard #wargaming
Good fun at the Outpost today. We managed to run our Chain of Command 2 'Road to Meiktila' demo game twice for people who have not played Chain of Command before. Thanks to @stormofsteel.bsky.social for helping run the games. Plentyvof positive feedback.

I’m working on a talk about shield walls in gaming. Which rules do/don’t have a specific shield wall rule? And how do you feel that they represented early medieval warfare? I’d be fascinated to hear your thoughts. Cheers!

“Wow, it’s got a fruit cellar!”…
Thanks to Joe Bilton @joewargamer.bsky.social for the mortar tips. #spreadthelard
Table set up for today’s Infamy Infamy scenario play-test. Will Princess Zenobii be able to escape across the river?

I particularly liked the crusaders - more than a few of whom snuck into my El Cid collection (despite the armour being slightly too late for the 11th century).

You can see how big the ranges are getting here - the page is full and there’s no mention of the Vikings, Saxons or Celts!

Gripping Beast appreciation post #6
Here’s a Wargames Illustrated advert from April 1998 with the Byzantines and Crusaders, again with evocative paint jobs by Colin Patten.

Not got a lot of hobby done today as been to see the local rugby side play with friends. Did manage to get the Brit version of my Burma early war 2 Pdr AT gun up to basic level. Just needs highlights now. #wargaming #spreadthelard #CoC #15mm
Day 69 (nice) of No Shame Painting
Crews on the carriers given their base coats. Drying for a wash tomorrow.
All 3D prints are produced in a scale of twenty. Twenty being the number immediately following nineteen.
While it’s not a full campaign booklet, hopefully this will get some Samurai onto the table! The 28 page booklet is available to download free here: mogsymakes.net/wp-content/u...

Samurai are not my specialist subject, so I drew upon the work of Midgard gamers Mark Denny, Mark Piper and William Smith to create a pair of sample Forces and some new Traits. Mirko Bruner did the layout.

Following requests for Samurai for Midgard Heroic Battles, we’ve put together something for the Sengoku period in collaboration with Peter’s Paperboys.

I found the actual grey I used for the original group... the only AK paint I have with the cunning title Field Grey Base. Worked out pretty well on this fella...
