"Then GO...and bring him to me!" Mike Pollock's start as Eggman has his sinister side down pact. What people tend to forget, given how he's been portrayed recently, is that he's supposed to be this cold evil madman.

Granted, Forces would go too far in that direction... #SonicX

It also doesn't help that Lisa voiced Lina Inverse and I like it when she voiced short tempered characters with a hair trigger for violence!

Also gonna reiterate this that Lisa Ortiz's Amy the Hedgehog is my DEFINITIVE voice for her as this is the one that was in my head for the Archie run from Sonic Adventure until the cancellation.

"Proceeding to upper structural surface..." Yeah, they gave the robot a voice...which is gonna be odd in future eps considering the personalities they're gonna have later... #SonicX

Also this dub was when the New York 4Kids cast had started voicing the characters that would carry over in the games starting with Shadow the Hedgehog in November of 2005 until Sonic Colors in 2010.

Right around this time, that's when Knuckles and Amy hear the stompings fo Missile Wrist!

Station Square, it's a small town!

And before anybody cracks a joke on my joke, Station Square's supposed to=New York City. #SonicX

"Knuckles, can't we take a break!"
"You can take one if you want, I'm not stopping!" Reminder, Knuckles is the stubborn idiot of the franchise. #SonicX

One thing I have noticed is in the dub the 4Kids music kind of drowns out the voice acting. Seeing this wasn't an issue with Ultimate Muscle I can't help but wonder if SEGA kinda had a role in this.

"FIRE!" Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd we get 4Kids' 4Kidsness...can't have kids seeing guns being guns, so let's give 'em lazier effects! #SonicX

We go right to Missile Wrist's attack and...

"There's nothing more fun than making waves at the beach!" Ok, points for the dub, that's a very Eggman one liner. #SonicX

I just gotta make one other thing clear, I realized: Yeah, these are early episodes, so chances are the dubbers, be it VA work or the director, are trying to find their footing so performances tend to get better going forward. #SonicX

"You're not gonna leave me alone down here, are you!?" Ok, Lisa Ortiz was perfect for Amy Rose, no arguments. #SonicX

Also yes, I did just watch the previous 2 episodes from last week so we are starting on Episode 3 proper!

Nothing against Dan Green, great VA work honestly is the ONLY thing from 4Kids that holds up 9 times out of 10 (Especially with Sega watching for the writing), but...it sounds too nasally for Knuckles... I wanna hand him a kleenex. #SonicX

Okay, we're doing #SonicX all over again only this time it's the 4Kids dub! This version I'm mainly gonna focus on commentary on the 4Kids actors and the script!
#SonicTheHedgehog #4KidsDub #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

"This whole thing is Sonic's fault!" ...uh...what...what was Dan Green going for with this voice? I know you shouldn't sound like the same character over and over again, but...well, Yami Yugi would've been fine for Knuckles given he's the muscle. #SonicX

We open on the island where Eggman's base landed and it just happens to be not too far away from Station Square.

Ya know, I'm gonna go with Sonic X Godzilla and just say Station Square on our world just HAPPENS to be in the same local as IDW's Sonic. #SonicX

After Sonic meets Chris and reunites with Cream, Cheese, and Tails, we see that Eggman decides Earth's a good place to start the Eggman Empire.

Well, he can't blow it up, it doesn't block his view of Venus. #SonicX

Previously on #SonicX (Dubbed): On the planet Mob---*BZZZZZZZZZT* (Dubbed over by Sega) "Sonic's world" *BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT*---Sonic and the others are fighting Eggman again when Chaos Control unknowingly activates sending everyone to Earth.

Up next, if you can't make your home the start of the evil empire, make your new local one! The people won't mind, you'll trample 'em anyway! "Missile Wrist Rampage!" #SonicX
