TheTruexy: We took an intentionally large swing at the economy due to our in-game experiences, internal data, and past trends from Set 12. Combined with some buffs, some key bugfixes, and general optimization of late-game lines, level 9 boards were both too consistent and too powerful. We're walking back some of the changes, but also hitting a couple strategies that were starting to shine even above the fast 9 strategies. Finally, we're fixing a key Brambleback bug that caused him to get weaker with Ability Power, which made common Bruiser Builds (and the 3-star) much weaker than intended. Since this micropatch is nerf-focused, expect 18.3 to followup with mostly champion buffs as the meta resettles.

MacOS PBE update coming later this week.

Geoff, Peter, Gina and Anya discuss MacOS, cosmetics, and our new player experience. We filmed this last week while MacOS was on track for PBE, but critical issues came up over the weekend. We know Mac players are waiting, and we want to get this right. We’ll share an update on MacOS PBE by the end of this week. The rest of the PBE update is still on track for today, including early testing of the PC full client.

How to climb Patch 18.2 by [email protected] #TFT #S18:

tl;dr Play strongest board & conserve HP. Don't play 4-cost Level 8 lottery or chase Fast 9 if you don't have the spot for it.

Also tip from Kovanel: For Salvage Bin, slam anything reasonable for tempo & then fix it later with Salvage Bin

Ramblinnn: reposting this from another discord: this is my general approach to the patch Strongest board is your #1 priority. Saving HP is extremely important in a meta where half the lobby is trying to go level 9. Your best resource for placing well is an HP lead. Make everyone else kill each other off and let the one guy who hits the hardest win out. My most common placement this patch is 3rd by far Hold pairs and useful units over making econ, especially on stage 1. Give yourself options and ways to make your board stronger whenever possible. Some units just aren't worth holding but don't sell unless you're certain you won't need it. Your first augment can change your priorities very quickly Don't force loss streak unless you truly have no opener and your augment supports it. There is no level 8 comp that is so far above the rest that you can justify the HP loss, and getting to 9 off loss streak is unrealistic if you want any level of consistency Stop clicking augments that force you to go level 9 unless the conditions actually support it. Main things you'd be looking for are having a strong opener, an encounter that makes it easier (Ashe especially), or just a gold openerLook for reroll outs whenever possible. They are easy 3rds/4ths/5ths if you play them from a reasonable spot. The main ones i was open to were Cassio, Yi (only with artifact), Caitlyn, and Akali. I have seen Khazix do well but i haven't had a good spot for it. I tried the new Veigar comp but it seems like you need too many things to go right for it to work. The best slams are Gargoyle and Shojin, they were the most popular two in TPC for a reason. You can slam more specific items but be certain that you're not putting yourself in a spot that you'll be overly contested. Try to play the least contested Level 8 line, and take advantage of not needing as much econ from augments in order to do so. Only take econ if you absolutely need it. My preference is Zyra/Soraka given the choice. It's much less item specific compared to Ahri and while Nidalee is definitely strong she seems the most contested overall in my games. play around amumu or malphite for frontline, whichever you can actually hit Don't be afraid to roll on Level 6 or 7, especially if you have pairs. Any opportunity to save HP is worth it, don't stake everything on hitting on level 8 unless your spot is so specific that you can't afford to let other players take your units first. Last thing is just two of the augments i'm particularly looking out for are Backline Blueprint and Salvage Bin, i think they fit into this patch perfectly. All the emblem options are good and Salvage lets you flex into whichever comp has the least traffic.

PSA: Bugged unit 4-cost unit pools reported on Patch 18.2 by [email protected] #TFT #S18

There seems to be >10 4-costs

Opponent hit Ez 2* at 4-6, Shreddin had 8 Ezreals at 5-2 (11 Ezreals total) and still saw 2 more in shop to make 3* Ezreal
