Red-Bellied Woodpecker, clinging to the underside of a dead tree, while hunting for tasty snaks. Brightly lit, the texture and rough features of the dead tree can be seen. The bird is a smaller size, white under, black with white stripes on back and wings. red cap, extending down the back of neck. Slight orange tinge to cheeks stubby black bill. Smooth short feathers on head, unlike the tall punk-rock Pilated Woodpecker's stand-up hairdo.

Two #woodpeckers chased each other through a dead tree. I thought these were great spotted woodpeckers, but looking at pictures in Wikipedia makes me doubt that now.

Perched atop a thin, leafless alder branch, an Anna's hummingbird beats its wings to show off its brilliant head feathers. Neon pink and striking yellow feathers cover its entire head, while its body is a mixture of gray and shiny, scale-like green feathers.
