My project yesterday was one of those. I was so stressed about work I was having nightmares. But the event was a success, made so many people feel seen, made others think deeply about accessibility. There was a warmth and gratitude there. That’s worth the worry, stress, fear. #ParshaChat

I love this insight. #ParshaChat

We've reached the end of the scheduled #ParshaChat, but please feel free to continue the conversation!

A3: Yes. And maybe the misogyny is propping that up for him in some way? Like, "I'm not one of *those* guys who's so foolish as to think that *women* are worthwhile". #ParshaChat

A3 I think Kohelet is being misogynistic but he is also so convinced of his own superiority that he doesn't recognize that one can learn things from most people. #ParshaChat

And there can be so many of those moments if you make a habit of it! #ParshaChat

Yes. If you give one person a reason to smile - if only for a passing moment - it matters.

Be kind. Just because.

A4: And I also think that not everything *needs* to have some deep philosophical meaning in order to be worthwhile. #ParshaChat

A4: I think that the things we build do matter. Some of them, anyway. #ParshaChat

That's a good point! #ParshaChat

Mourning leads to thinking about all the interconnected stories around the event being mourned, but parties aren't generally reflective spaces. #ParshaChat

Q4: Do you think that people can get anything out of work and worrying other than grief and heartache? If so, what? #ParshaChat

In healthcare a recent trend is to require research to include lived experience experts #ParshaChat

@rutiregan.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 8:09 PM

A3: Because research is actually important, but... you're not going to get good research if your attitude towards teachers is "I have only found what I'm looking for in 1 in 1000, and none of them have been women". #ParshaChat

@rutiregan.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 8:08 PM

A3: I feel like the adversarial relationship between educators and education researchers causes *so many* problems and that things could be so much better with more collaboration, and I have absolutely no idea how to fix that. #ParshaChat

We talked a bit about this traditional belief in the bookish community that you can only take with you into the afterlife the books that you gave away in this life … #ParshaChat

(It does tend to ruin most movies, though.) #ParshaChat
