And apparently Rough Draft Me looked at it and thought, ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐‘š๐‘ข๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘˜๐‘›๐‘œ๐‘ค ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘ก ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘“๐‘“๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘Ž. ๐ด๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ ๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘›. ๐ด๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ โ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘๐‘ . ๐ด๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ž๐‘ก. ๐ด๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘“๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ . ๐ด๐‘๐ท ๐‘‡๐ป๐ธ ๐‘…๐ผ๐ต๐ต๐‘‚๐‘๐‘†. But sometimes less really is more. By the final draft, all of that became: โ€œIn the mirror she shimmered like liquid moonlight; lace whispering fragility over something steadier beneath. The skirt floated at mid-calf, old-world elegance with a modern flair.โ€ Same dress. Same image in my head. A lot fewer words getting between the reader and Lottie.
