entendre...
leaving unswept leaves
in his driveway

#senryu #hiraku

abandoned factories
in the distance -
kids on the playground

#senryu #hiraku

Sunday mornings—
having coffee with
the ol' heads

#senryu #hiraku

pouring hot tea
my neighbor tells me
her problems again

#senryu #hiraku

at the dinner table
my son's face
quietly cherubic

#senryu #hiraku

the dead one's
quixotic smile ...
creased sepia photo

#senryu #hiraku

lying down—an old memory comes to me hesitantly #senryu #hiraku

hot tea—
suddenly thinking of
my father's father

#senryu #hiraku

pears
quietly ripening
i despise what i despise

#senryu #hiraku

what is love...
the bursting of
bloated mellons

#senryu #hiraku

dad's mower empty of gas—suddenly i want a rosary #senryu #hiraku

in deep noon: leaving the wall portrait crooked #senryu #hiraku

with a cat's aloofness
not giving a damn
about bills

#senryu #hiraku

loving Shinko...
hurling my passions
into senryu's skin

#senryu #hiraku

in the dark
strange gleam from
grandma's old pearls

#senryu #hiraku

crescent moon—a midnight rain and man that didn't come #senryu #hiraku

tall grasses
in front of the plantation
history can't hide

#senryu #hiraku

not responsible
for my reactions...
staining my apron

#senryu #hiraku

Charlemagne's smile: what i remember wasn't what happened #senryu #hiraku

tepid rain: the baby she wanted he didn't its no longer #senryu #hiraku
