Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s short story, this should've been a gothic treat. Instead, it’s a rather naff platformer, more frustrating than frightening. Still, the opening ‘cut-scene’ and creepy old-house setting give it a certain gloomy charm.

Indeed, I *had* not played this #C64 (albeit: SID) Classic until this morning and it is a perfectly lovely mid-80s Run 'n' Gun game, with some neat elevator action (!) and map-changing mechanics. But, just doing this and trying to limit energy-depletion all game is not fun.
