#NerdfArters day 7: Letterpress

illustration of cartoony letter stamp blocks holding up a giant pizza that is pressing down on them, the letters are DFTBA, the D is struggling and seems to be the only one worried about being crushed to death by a falling pizza, the F has Forgotten his duty and is giving a double finger guns and a wink to the viewer, the T is struggling with the weight of the pizza with his eyes squeezed shut, the B is looking up at the pizza with hungry eyes and is licking his lips, the A is looking at B judgementally.

Make Your Art. #NerdfArters

text on a paper texture background “I don’t care if your art is hand-knitted sweaters or youtube videos or home cooked meals or soccer commentary or tumblr fanfiction or whatever it is. I only care that you make it and that you share it, despite the cost of doing so. I want you to think of what you put into the world as art, as an attempt to refashion the raw materials of earth into something better and more interesting than it needs to be. Mikey T did it with commentary, others do it with wood or words or clay or movement, and i know there’s a cost to making and sharing art. i know it makes you vulnerable because art is an expression of your deepest self. it is inherently scary to share it, but in doing so you can reach people, even if you don’t reach millions of people, who really need to hear from you as i have really needed to hear from Mikey T every saturday for the last 15 years.” - John Green

A stack of hardcover copies of John Green's novel "Hollywood, Ending" on a light wood surface, featuring a pink and light blue cover design. In the middle of the stack, pressed between the copies, are white letters on coral red that reads "PIZZA", italicized as if they are being pressed between the books.

I don’t have the time or energy or tools to make rubber eraser stamps for #NerdfArters but I am incredibly tempted anyways.
