@mhopens.bsky.socialOk Tuesday morning with The Cramps, Gravest Gravy. Long story short all I got was the CD. My vinyl pre-order ended up being unfulfilled. Still great to have some new Cramps and this version of Rockin’ Bones kills.

@danteece.bsky.socialWinner of #5DebutAlbumsFinal Match 10
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Another one that is on the shortlist to take one of the last places on my final 5. That part of the list is going to be so tight.
@danteece.bsky.socialProbably the most socially conscious album in #5DebutAlbumsFinal
Tracy Chapman - self titled
Haunting both for the beauty of the delivery, and the harsh reality of the lyrics. Makes for a potent and special mix.
@danteece.bsky.socialLike an Alt-rock performance piece for #5DebutAlbumsFinal
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
A real contender for me. The experimental, non-sequitur style, combined with Albini's documentary style side-skits creates something very unique.
@danteece.bsky.social#5DebutAlbumsFinal Match 10
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Vs
Tracy Chapman - self titled
Two great debuts that come from very different ends of the noise spectrum.

@realsamgoodie.bsky.social💿 Warrant – Cherry Pie 🍒🔥
📅 September 11, 1990 (36 years)
The album was DONE, packed up and ready to go—then Columbia demanded one more anthem. Jani Lane went home and wrote “Cherry Pie.”
@sirromssur.bsky.social@realsamgoodie.bsky.social💿 SOiL – Scars 🩸🔥
📅 September 11, 2001 (25 years)
SOiL’s breakthrough album came out the morning of 9/11. Tim King remembers going to Walmart that day—and finding the place EMPTY.
@danteece.bsky.social#5DebutAlbumsFinal Match 8
Stone Roses - self titled
Vs
Bjork - Debut
One of the greatest albums of all time takes on one of the great 'something different' albums.
