From draft four of Book 3 (TMF), chapter 3, Elijwa POV: I can feel the magic of this place,” Isaac said, craning his neck to look up at the twinkling trees above their heads. He lowered his gaze, meeting her eyes. “You did this. You created this, and magic now flourishes among the Lumani.” Warm gratitude bloomed in Elijwa’s chest, and she could not help the smile forming on her lips. She had created this grove—called down countless stars to birth the Chrysillium trees now flourishing here and infusing the land with star-born magic.The magic the Lumani had lost with the decimation of the grove at Falls Hollow was finally restored. “Finally, there is peace,” she said. “Panez reunited the Lumani, and we have the wall, of course, and finally, after so much loss, we can have our peace.” She wished her voice had not quavered at the end. She wished the price had not needed to be so steep. But wishing for what could no longer be seemed futile.
